For many households, tomorrow morning is the first day of Recycle More, which means more recycling will be picked-up from the kerbside, including TetraPak and more types of plastic.
Please check the leaflet that you received to check your new recycling collection day.
Please fill your recycling containers as follows:-
- Your existing black box will contain paper and cardboard, kept separate if possible
- Your existing green box will be used for glass and food cartons, including TetraPak
- The new blue bags will be used for plastic bottles, pots, tubs, as well as tins, foil and aerosols.
- Small electric items and batteries go into a bag next to the boxes
- The brown food waste bin is unchanged
Cllr Graham Godwin-Pearson, says, "Recycling is one of the simplest and easiest ways we can reduce household waste, and Recycle More means less going to landfill and potentially fewer trips to the recycling centre.
"Please look out for the leaflet and note the change of collection day. Together, we have an impact on reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill."
Graham has a couple of spare blue bags, so if these have been delivered to your street, but your household was missed out, please send him a note and he he drop one round to you: [email protected]
