About us

Graham Godwin-Pearson and Jeff Savage are the Conservative activists in the Cheddar ward.

Fundamentally, we believe in good quality services for low Council Tax.

Graham Godwin-Pearson (left) represented Axbridge and the nearby villages on Sedgemoor District Council, where he stood up for local residents, gone into battle over planning and championed a wide range of issues, including road safety, the environment, biodiversity, recycling, schools and amenities. He sat on the Community Scrutiny and Grants committees, as well as being the liaison councillor for Batts Combe Quarry.

Graham has long been a campaigner on environmental issues and worked closely with IFAW, Tusk & others on the protection of species & habitats, including spending time in the Congo Basin researching and supporting Great Ape conservation charities.

Graham is a Governor at two schools, lives locally with his young family and runs a small business.

Jeff Savage (right) has lived in the Cheddar Valley for most of his life, the last 40 years within the Cheddar Parish. He is married to Jax, a retired special needs teacher, and have 3 grown up children and 2 grandchildren.

Jeff has run his own business for over 30 years and spent many years serving as a local councillor on Cheddar Parish Council, including a spell as Chairman, and Sedgemoor District Council where he was Chairman of the Licensing Committee for many years, amongst various other roles.  He is currently a serving member on the management committee of the Kings Fitness and Leisure Centre and a Member on the Wessex Learning Trust Board.

Jeff is very grateful and enthusiastic for the opportunity to serve his local community once again and retains the passion and commitment with which he served previously. He cares deeply for our area and is looking forward to bringing a positive change.
