Knoll councillors Andrew Gilling and Bob Filmer have been working together for many years to get the speed limit along the A38 between the Edithmead Roundabout and East Brent reduced to improve highway safety along this road.
You may have noticed recently a couple of signs erected at the Edithmead and East Brent Roundabouts, the latest evidence of progress!
Bob said, "We are nearing the completion of this safety improvement, after the public consultation was positive, the legal documentation needed to be put in place and finally the signs and lines. These two signs are the first as they needed to be lit, shortly we will see repeater signs along the A38 and new markings on the highway, and at that point the new speed limit will come into operation."
Andrew and Bob have also been working with Lympsham Parish Council to see a lowering of the speed limit along the A370 and this is also progressing.
