Children, parents and teachers at Weare Academy and Rainbow Woods pre-school will notice the new surface on the car park this morning at the school.
Thanks to a generous donation from Batts Combe Quarry of 20 tonnes of scalpings and some timely coordination by Cllr Graham Godwin-Pearson and school staff, the job was completed over half term while the car park was not in daily use.
Graham says, "Anyone who has used the car park will know how muddy it can get after just a little rain.
"The new surface will help to keep little shoes clean at drop-off and pick-up."
