Lorry overturned at Magic Roundabout, Cheddar

There are reports this morning of a lorry that has overturned at the Magic Roundabout, the pinch-point between Cheddar, Axbridge and the Shipham Road. Traffic is apparently backed-up waiting for the road to clear.

Cllr Graham Godwin-Pearson says, "The Magic Roundabout has been a bottleneck for so many years, with extra constraints put on it from the quarry lorries. It will only get worse with the new housing development planned for Upper New Road.

"If elected, Jeff and I will press for the junction to be remodelled, to make it safer for all road users, more logical and less of a congestion hot-spot."
