Sedgemoor Councillors Tony Grimes and Bob Filmer were pleased to meet with Rita and Dave at the Berrow Beach Gate with the Petition Rita had organised to keep the Beach access open to vehicles during the Winter.
When Tony and Bob became aware of Sedgemoor’s original decision to close the beach for the Winter they raised the issue with Officers at Sedgemoor. They were both present when Rita presented her petition at the Berrow Parish Council meeting and gained the backing of Parish Councillors to seek to reverse this decision.
Tony and Bob said “having worked with Officers at Sedgemoor, we are so pleased that we have managed to secure the reopening of the beach throughout the Winter months between 10am and 3pm. We understand the Health and Safety concerns the council were trying to address and welcome that they have found the money to allow for a Beach warden to help keep beach users safe”
“We would also like to thank Rita, Dave and all those involved with the petition, the Berrow Parish Council, local residents and businesses who came together to help Sedgemoor find a solution to this issue.”
